Karen Murk, Murk Ceramics

Karen Murk is an emerging Sonoma County ceramicist working at Kickwheel Pottery Studio, whose practice integrates soft slab construction, kurinuki, and pit firing with local materials such as seaweed and redwood. Murk seeks to present work that mirrors and inspires growth as well as grounding.
A strong background in mathematics, particularly geometry, contributes to Karen’s construction methods and the geometric process of many of the pieces she creates.
